AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

AEMO declares a Forecast LOR2 condition under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the NSW region for the following period[s]:

[1.] From 1600 hrs 16/12/2024 to 2000 hrs 16/12/2024.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1103 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 710 MW.

AEMO is seeking a market response.

AEMO has not yet estimated the latest time it would need to intervene through an AEMO intervention event.

AEMO ELECTRICITY MARKET NOTICE

The Forecast LOR1 condition in the NSW region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 121792 has been updated at 1400 hrs 13/12/2024 to the following:

1. From 1400 hrs to 1600 hrs 17/12/2024.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1430 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 745 MW.

2. From 2030 hrs to 2300 hrs 17/12/2024.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1849 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1119 MW.

Fix typo: Line 7141 should read Line 7143

At 2026 hrs 12/12/2024 the Kamerunga to Barron Gorge 132 kV Line 7184 and the Kamerunga to Barron Gorge 132 kV Line 7143 tripped.

The cause of the trip was identified as due to lightning.

In accordance with SO_OP_3715, AEMO now considers the Kamerunga to Barron Gorge 132 kV Line 7184 and the Kamerunga to Barron Gorge 132 kV Line 7143 to be vulnerable with a category of probable due to lightning.

In accordance with SO_OP_3715, AEMO now considers the Kamerunga to Barron Gorge 132 kV Line 7184 and the Kamerunga to Barron Gorge 132 kV Line 7141 to be vulnerable with a category of probable due to lightning.
