[EventId:202409291820_NRM_NSW1_VIC1_started] NEGRES CONSTRAINT NRM_NSW1_VIC1 started operating from 29 September 2024 18:20
Issued by Australian Energy Market Operator Ltd at 1820 hrs on 29 September 2024
ACTUAL NEGATIVE SETTLEMENT RESIDUES - NSW to VIC - 29 September 2024.
Electricity Market outcomes have resulted in the accumulation of negative settlement residues that have exceeded the allowable negative residue threshold for the NSW to VIC directional interconnector.
The negative residue constraint set NRM_NSW1_VIC1 commenced operating from 1820 hrs on 29 September 2024.
This constraint set contains an equation with the following interconnectors on the LHS:
VIC1-NSW1
The RHS of the constraint equation may be adjusted to manage residues.

Planned outage of Tailem Bend - South East 275 kV transmission line in the South Australia region beginning on 20/09/2024
The Tailem Bend - South East No 1 275 kV line in the South Australian (SA) region is planned to be out of service from 2100 hrs on 20/09/2024 to 0530 hrs on 21/09/2024.
A credible contingency event during this planned outage could cause synchronous separation of the SA region from the rest of the NEM.
During this planned outage:
- Power transfer will be restricted across the VIC - SA interconnector (Heywood interconnector); and
- Post contingent FCAS will be sourced within SA following Separation event.
Refer AEMO Network Outage Schedule (NOS) for further details.
