Actual Lack Of Reserve Level 2 (LOR2) in the NSW region - 14/12/2023
An Actual LOR2 condition has been declared under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the NSW region from 1730 hrs.
The Actual LOR2 condition is not forecast in Pre Dispatch
The capacity reserve required is 690 MW
The minimum reserve available is 678 MW
AEMO is seeking an immediate market response.
An insufficient market response may require AEMO to implement a AEMO intervention event.

At 1324 hrs the Hadspen - Palmerston No.3 & No.4 110 kV lines tripped.
AEMO did not instruct load shedding.
AEMO has not been advised of any disconnection of bulk electrical load.
The cause of this non credible contingency event is not known at this stage.

Refer to AEMO Electricity Market Notice no. 112198. Additional generation in QLD could assist in alleviating the forecast LOR condition in NSW.
Please provide Generator Recall Information for the period 14/12/2023, by 1200 hrs on 13/12/2023 via the Generator Recall communication system, in accordance with clause 4.8.5A of the National Electricity Rules.

At 1554 hrs the remaining Mintaro - Waterloo 132 kV Line was returned to service.
The following constraint set(s) revoked:
S-X-MNWT+CB
The cause of this non-credible contingency event has been identified and AEMO is satisfied that another occurrence of this event is unlikely under the current circumstances.
AEMO will not reclassify this event as a credible contingency event.

At 0444 hrs the Mintaro - Waterloo 132 kV Line tripped and the Clare North - Mintaro 132 kV Line tripped at the Mintaro end only.
AEMO did not instruct load shedding.

The cause of this non credible contingency event is not known at this stage.
