STPASA - Update of the Forecast Lack Of Reserve Level 1 (LOR1) in the NSW Region on 06/01/2025
The Forecast LOR1 condition in the NSW region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 122633 has been updated at 1400 hrs 02/01/2025 to the following:
1. From 1400 hrs to 1530 hrs 06/01/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1400 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 700 MW.
2. From 1830 hrs to 2230 hrs 06/01/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1845 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1137 MW.

The minimum capacity reserve available is 297 MW.

Please provide Generator Recall Information for the period 06/01/2025, by 1200 hrs on 03/01/2025 via the Generator Recall communication system, in accordance with clause 4.8.5A of the National Electricity Rules.

AEMO declares a Forecast LOR1 condition under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the NSW region for the following periods:
1. From 1500 hrs to 1700 hrs 06/01/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1400 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1142 MW.
2. From 1730 hrs to 1800 hrs 06/01/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1400 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1328 MW.

Update - Non-credible contingency event - SA region - 23/12/2024
Refer AEMO Electricity Market Notice 122442
At 2036 hrs the Happy Valley - Morphett Vale East and the Morphett Vale - Cherry Gardens 275kV lines were returned to service.
The cause of this non-credible contingency event has been identified and AEMO is satisfied that another occurrence of this event is unlikely under the current circumstances.
AEMO will not reclassify this event as a credible contingency event.

At 1632 hrs the Happy Valley - Morphett Vale East 275kV Line and the Morphett Vale - Cherry Gardens 275kV line tripped.
AEMO did not instruct load shedding.
AEMO has not been advised of any disconnection of bulk electrical load.
The cause of this non credible contingency event is not known at this stage.
