Planned outage of the Red Cliffs - Wemen - Kerang 220kV line in the VIC region on 30/11/2024.
The Red Cliffs - Wemen - Kerang 220kV line in the Victorian (VIC) region is planned to be out of service from 0400 hrs to 1430 hrs on 30/11/2024.
A credible contingency event during this planned outage may require:
- Load shedding in the Victorian outer grid; and/ or
- Market intervention, such as the issuing of directions.

An Actual LOR2 condition has been declared under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the NSW region from 1530 hrs.
The Actual LOR2 condition is forecast to exist until 1700 hrs.
The capacity reserve required is 685 MW
The minimum reserve available is 412 MW
AEMO is seeking an immediate market response.

At 1637 hrs Uranquinty Unit 12 tripped and at 1639 hrs Uranquinty Units 11 and 13 tripped.
AEMO has not been advised of any disconnection of bulk electrical load.
The cause of this non credible contingency event is not known at this stage.

There is an opportunity for testing Project Energy Connect (PEC-1) for flows in both directions up to 50 MW on 21st November from 06:00hrs to 09:00hrs
This test includes includes a fast runback of Murraylink.

AEMO's weather service provider has issued forecast temperatures equal to or greater than the NEM Local Temperature Alert Levels for listed weather stations below.

The NEM Local Temperature Alert Levels are:
Launceston Ti Tree Bend: 33 Deg C, Dalby Airport: 37 Deg C, for all other selected weather stations: 39 Deg C.
AEMO requests Market Participants to:
1. review the weather forecast in the local area where their generating units / MNSP converter stations are located and,
2. if required, update the available capacity in their dispatch offers or availability submissions consistent with the forecast temperatures.
