CHG0100201 | Production | Planned maintenance affecting the AEMO Market Network
Notification issued to: Market Notice
Notification Type: Initial
Change Type: Normal
Service/ Component: MarketNet
Change Title: Planned maintenance affecting the AEMO Market Network.
Change Start Date & Time: 16/12/2024 08:00:00 AEST
Change End Date & Time: 17/12/2024 17:00:00 AEST
Outage Start Date & Time: 16/12/2024 15:12:00 AEST
Outage End Date & Time: 16/12/2024 15:13:00 AEST
Environment: Production
Participant Impact and Requirements: Planned maintenance will be conducted on the 16th of December 2024, between 07:30AM and 05:00PM AEST on the core network infrastructure within the AEMO Market Network in Brisbane.
During there change, there will be two instances of 1-3 second service disruption to MarketNet Services accessed via Brisbane as traffic moves from the active to the standby load balancing unit. All Services should return to normal after this time. Traffic via Sydney will not be affected during this time. AEMO recommends that all market participants with site to site VPN connections currently connected via Brisbane, to switch these connections to the Sydney site as a precaution.
Participants connecting via IPWAN and/or SSL VPN will be automatically connected to the Sydney site and do not need to take any action.

Forecast Minimum System Load MSL1 condition in the VIC Region on 08/12/2024
Update to Market Notice 121508 - AEMO has detected that there is an elevated risk of insufficient demand to maintain a secure operating state in the VIC on 08/12/2024.
Minimum regional demand is forecast to be 1299 MW at 1300 hrs, and the advisory threshold is:

Forecast Minimum System Load (MSL1) condition in the VIC region on 08/12/2024
AEMO has detected that there is an elevated risk of insufficient demand to maintain a secure operating state in the VIC region on 08/12/2024.
Minimum System Load (MSL) conditions are forecast when regional demand is less than the relevant MSL threshold. The advisory MSL thresholds are:
o MSL1 - 1590 MW
o MSL2 - 1090 MW
o MSL3 - 590 MW
The regional demand is forecast to be below the MSL1 threshold for the following period:
1. From 1200 hrs 08/12/2024 to 1330 hrs 08/12/2024. Minimum regional demand is forecast to be 1496 MW at 1300 hrs.
