PDPASA - Forecast Lack Of Reserve Level 1 (LOR1) in the NSW Region on 06/02/2025
AEMO declares a Forecast LOR1 condition under clause 4.8.4(b) of the National Electricity Rules for the NSW region for the following Periods:
[1.] From 1730 hrs 06/02/2025 to 1800 hrs 06/02/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1370 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1347 MW.
[2.] From 1630 hrs 07/02/2025 to 1700 hrs 07/02/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1370 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1248 MW.

The Forecast LOR1 condition in the SA region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 124094 is cancelled at 1400 hrs 06/02/2025.
No LOR condition is currently forecast in the STPASA period.

NEM Local Temperature Alerts for SA, VIC from 06 Feb 2025 to 10 Feb 2025
AEMO's weather service provider has issued forecast temperatures equal to or greater than the NEM Local Temperature Alert Levels for listed weather stations below.
SA
Port Augusta Ap (39+ Deg C): 6th Feb, 10th Feb
VIC
Mildura Ap (39+ Deg C): 6th Feb, 7th Feb
The NEM Local Temperature Alert Levels are:
Launceston Ti Tree Bend: 33 Deg C, Dalby Airport: 37 Deg C, for all other selected weather stations: 39 Deg C.
AEMO requests Market Participants to:
1. review the weather forecast in the local area where their generating units / MNSP converter stations are located and,
2. if required, update the available capacity in their dispatch offers or availability submissions consistent with the forecast temperatures.

The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1370 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 887 MW.
[2.] From 1930 hrs 06/02/2025 to 2030 hrs 06/02/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1370 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1148 MW.

The Forecast LOR1 condition in the NSW region advised in AEMO Electricity Market Notice No. 124093 has been updated at 1500 hrs 05/02/2025 to the following:
1. From 1600 hrs to 1630 hrs 07/02/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1370 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1119 MW.
2. From 1900 hrs to 1930 hrs 07/02/2025.
The forecast capacity reserve requirement is 1370 MW.
The minimum capacity reserve available is 1306 MW.

Update - Vulnerable lines in TAS region
Update - Lightning vulnerable lines in TAS region
Refer to AEMO Electricity Market Notice 124044
At 1410 hrs 03/02/2025 the Farrell - Reece No.1 and No.2 220 kV lines lines tripped.
The cause of the trip was identified as due to lightning.
In accordance with SO_OP_3715, AEMO now considers the Farrell - Reece No.1 and No.2 220 kV lines to be vulnerable with a category of probable due to lightning.
