The 2022 Integrated System Plan

The 2022 ISP provides a comprehensive roadmap for the National Electricity Market. It draws on extensive stakeholder engagement and power system expertise to develop a roadmap that optimises consumer benefits through a transition period of great complexity and uncertainty.

The ISP and its optimal development path support Australia’s highly complex and rapid energy transformation towards net zero emissions, enabling low-cost renewable energy and essential transmission to provide consumers with reliable, and secure and affordable power. It serves the regulatory purpose of identifying actionable and future ISP projects, as well as the broader purposes of informing market participants, investors, policy decision makers and consumers.

AEMO has published the 2022 Integrated System Plan.

Consultation on the Draft 2022 ISP

The Draft 2022 Integrated System Plan (ISP) was published on 10 December 2021.

AER’s Transparency Review of AEMO Draft 2022 Integrated System Plan was published in January 2022. In response to its recommendations, an Addendum to the 2022 Draft ISP was published on 11 March 2022 to provide additional information on how key inputs and assumptions contribute to the Draft ISP outcomes.

Written submissions

Submissions in response to the Draft 2022 ISP, associated appendices and other material, were invited until 11 February 2022.

The Draft ISP includes consultation questions to guide stakeholder submissions. AEMO also welcomed comment on any aspect of the Draft ISP.
