Ausgrid published the combined Distribution and Transmission Annual Planning Report 2021 on 21 December 2021. With a five-year forward planning horizon for the distribution network and a ten-year planning horizon for the transmission (dual function asset) network, this combined report reflects the outcomes of the annual planning review of Ausgrid’s electricity network.
The purpose of this combined annual planning report is to inform Registered Participants, stakeholder groups and interested parties of the identified future network needs and the proposed and committed solutions to these needs, and the potential opportunities for non-network solutions, particularly for large investments where the Regulatory Investment Test for Distribution (RIT-D) applies.
This year, there is a web-based mapping portal where participants can interact with Ausgrid’s zone-substation and sub-transmission network layers. This will enable viewers to get a better appreciation of the location of Ausgrid network emerging limitations and allow market participants to determine where they can help Ausgrid address those limitations.
