Consultation on updates to the ISP Methodology

The Integrated System Plan (ISP) is a whole-of-system plan that provides an integrated roadmap for the efficient development of the National Electricity Market (NEM) over at least the next 20 years. As part of the preparation of the 2024 ISP, AEMO is consulting on proposed amendments to the ISP Methodology.

The ISP Methodology sets out how AEMO will undertake:

• Modelling for the ISP, including the capacity outlook model, time-sequential model and engineering assessment
• The cost-benefit analysis, including the steps to determine relative scenario likelihoods and determine the optimal development path.

As outlined in the Consultation Summary Report, AEMO requested stakeholder input regarding eight specific areas of the ISP Methodology by Monday 1 May 2023.
