IN002/21 – Notice of Time Limit Extension

Date of notice: 13 April 2022

AEMO has published a Notice of Time Limit Extension that grants AEMO until 1 August 2022 to publish the Notice of AEMO Decision for IN002/21.

This is because feedback to the IIR has raised questions of such complexity or difficulty that an extension of the time limit is justified under clause 135EG(b) of the National Gas Rules (NGR). AEMO requires additional information to determine whether further changes are required. Also, a change of this nature may require amendment to the AEMO Specification Pack. AEMO is working with its Information Technology (IT) service provider to determine whether there are changes to AEMO Specification Pack, and if so, as per clauses 1.3.3 of the Retail Market Procedures any proposed amendments require AEMO to undertake a consultative process.

Proposed Procedure Change

AEMO published a Proposed Procedure Change (PPC) to amend the SA Retail Market Procedures (RMP) and SA/WA Interface Control Document. The changes propose to align the WW&T and SA gas retail markets with existing practice in VIC and QLD by enabling in-situ transfers to occur so long as the read is at most four business days in advance of the proposed transfer date.

AEMO extended the period for submissions to be made on this stage of consultation. Submissions were due by COB Wednesday 30 March 2022.
