Project Specification Consultation Report – Summary
Regulatory Investment Test – Transmission – April 2022
AusNet Services is undertaking this Regulatory Investment Test for Transmission (RIT-T) to evaluate options to apply corrective actions to maintain reliable transmission network services between Murray Switching Station (MSS) to Dederang terminal Station.
Publication of this Project Specification Consultation Report (PSCR) represents the first step in the RIT-T process in accordance with clause 5.16 of the National Electricity Rules (NER) and section 4.2 of the RIT-T Application Guidelines.
AusNet Services determined that the present value of the baseline risk cost associated with maintaining the existing assets in service is more than $85 million. AusNet Services is therefore investigating options that could allow continued delivery of safe and reliable transmission network services between Murray Switching Station (MSS) to Dederang Terminal Station.
AusNet Services welcomes written submissions on the issues and the credible options presented in this PSCR. Submissions should be emailed to rittconsultations@ausnetservices.com.au on or before 22 July 2022. In the subject field, please reference ‘RIT-T PSCR (MSS – DTS) Tower Strengthening.’
