About

The Market Systems User Group (MSUG) is an industry group designed to facilitate the continuing improvement of all electricity and gas participant facing IT systems, Data Model, and Data Interchange releases.

Objectives

The MSUG objectives are:

  • To provide a forum for communication between AEMO’s and participants IT SMEs for all electricity and gas participant-facing IT systems.
  • To provide an opportunity for participants to understand the changes in technical specifications published on the Technical Specification Portal.
  • To provide a forum for considering the proposed changes to existing Market Systems.
  • To gain feedback from participants to facilitate continuous improvement in IT Market Systems.

Audience

The MSUG is open to business and IT Registered Participants in the Energy industry. It is a technical forum, providing participants the opportunity to ask AEMO technical SMEs questions regarding the in-progress technical specifications published in the Technical Specification Portal.

AEMO encourages all interested parties to read the published technical specifications and attend to clarify their questions.

Meeting invites

Meetings are approximately every 8 weeks, depending on system releases. The Chairperson sends invitations about two weeks in advance to the AEMO Help Desk Daily Bulletin distribution email.

This distribution list is set up for participants during registration. Each Participant ID maintains the members of the distribution list. AEMO do not maintain the distribution list.

To receive an MSUG invitation, ask your company’s distribution list email maintainers to include your email in their AEMO help desk bulletin distribution list.

Governance

The decisions made in the MSUG are made in collaboration with AEMO and participants.

Expenses

To avoid doubt, an individual business is responsible for any expense its representative incurs from attending the meetings or activities associated with the MSUG.
