Constraint Management

The WEM operates on a Security Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED) market model, whereby Network Limits are respected when calculating the lowest cost dispatch. Constraints represent the impact of these Network Limits on possible dispatches, and are therefore a key input into the WEM Dispatch Engine (WEMDE), the Network Access Quantity (NAQ) framework, and the Projected Assessment of System Adequacy (PASA).

The Constraints Library (all of the Constraints developed for WEM) and other resources relating to Constraints are publicly available through the WEM Congestion Information Resource.
