WDR Retailers
This section assists retailers in identifying the changes they need to make to implement WDR. It also provides links to the key information that supports the relevant changes.

At a high level, what are the WDR changes I need to make?
Retailers can choose whether or not to make customised changes in their wholesale systems to accommodate WDR e.g. automated reconciliation processes.

What WDRU information can I see and in what timeframes?
Different participant types have different levels of access to WDR data and information, as detailed in this document. Broadly, retailers will be able to see WDR information related to:
- DRSP role assignment
- WDRU standing data for classified NMIs for which retailer is FRMP
- Baseline calculation input data
- Bidding and dispatch
- Settlement

How will I be notified when my customer is dispatched for WDR?
AEMO has existing obligations to publish all dispatch instructions and other dispatch data on day D+1, under NER 3.13.4(p) and (q). Retailers will be able to access these dispatch instructions from AEMO's website and through the EMMS Portal.
It should be noted that AEMO will not be able to advise the retailer on day D+1 of the dispatch quantity for each individual NMI for which it is the FRMP. Dispatch instructions will be issued at the aggregated level (where applicable), and the DRSP will choose how it apportions a dispatch instruction between the constituent WDRUs, noting that these may be associated with different retailers.

How should we make these changes and when do we need make them?
Retailers can choose to update their systems and processes by 24 October 2021 to reconcile their market settlement invoices for WDR activity at NMIs for which they are responsible.

Which AEMO procedures/ rules that are relevant to me have changed?
The WDR program is updating documentation to reflect the changes required to AEMO’s market-facing systems and procedures aligned with the Wholesale Demand Response rule. This documentation also supports market participants in making the required changes to their internal delivery programs in preparation for WDR commencement.

Which AEMO systems that are relevant to me will change?
AEMO is making changes to its market systems to implement the WDR rule. Retailers should be aware of changes to the EMMS settlements system that will:
- Enable WDRU energy to be settled, billed and invoiced.
- Generate reconciliation reports.

How and when do we test the changes?
The Industry Testing phase of WDR will provide the opportunity for retailers to validate NMI Discovery and test new reports.
