Inter-network testing

Network development projects are proposed regularly in the National Electricity Market (NEM) to improve power system security and reliability. On some occasions, these developments and associated commissioning activities can significantly impact the transmission network. In such cases, it may be necessary to undergo an inter-network testing process.

Inter-network test guidelines assist registered participants in determining when an inter-network test may be required for certain projects or activities under clause 5.7.7(k) of the National Electricity Rules (NER). In addition, these guidelines provide guidance, requirements and processes for the assessment and conduct of inter-network tests.
